Burford
Known as the “Gateway to the Cotswolds,” Burford lies approximately two hours from London and provides the perfect introduction to the region’s charm. Admire its historic High Street, traditional tea rooms, boutiques and galleries before visiting the impressive St John the Baptist Church, regarded among England’s finest parish churches. Take your time and enjoy the atmosphere.
Swinbrook
A quintessential English village set along the River Windrush, just two miles from Burford. Largely untouched for generations, it features stone cottages, a charming church, cricket green and traditional pub beside the old stone bridge. Filming location for Downton Abbey and associated with former Prime Minister David Cameron.
Shilton
Nestled within the Shill Valley, Shilton epitomises classic Cotswold character. Honey-coloured stone cottages, rolling countryside and the gentle Shill Brook create a peaceful setting of natural beauty and historic charm.
Bibury
Often described as the most beautiful village in England, Bibury sits along the River Coln. Walk past the 14th-century Arlington Row cottages, originally a monastic wool store later converted into weavers’ homes. Visit the trout farm and enjoy the village inn with its landscaped gardens.
Bourton-on-the-Water
Known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds,” this lively village rests on the River Windrush, connected by low arched stone bridges. Explore independent shops and capture stunning photographs along its picturesque High Street.
Upper & Lower Slaughter
Twin villages set beside the River Eye and linked by a scenic footpath. Admire honey-stone cottages, flower-lined lanes and the romantic Copse Hill Road. A popular filming location, including the 2020 adaptation of Emma, these villages remain remarkably preserved.
Stow-on-the-Wold
A historic North Cotswolds market town centred around its spacious square and charming side streets. Enjoy a traditional English pub lunch in one of the country’s oldest inns, dating back to 962 AD.
Woodstock
A distinguished Georgian town at the gateway to Blenheim Palace. Featuring elegant period buildings, the 18th-century Town Hall and the Church of St Mary Magdalene, Woodstock holds strong royal connections and serves as the historic setting for the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
