Winston Churchill’s Chartwell Estate

Start the day at your London residence and we take the route Churchill himself took when escaping the hubbub of Westminster to the Garden of England in Kent. The scenery shifts into the rolling, green hills which provided perfect sanctuary for Churchill & his family. Chartwell was purchased by Churchill in September 1922 and was his absolute haven until his death in 1965. It acts as a perfect mid-20th century time capsule museum. Tour the ‘Wilderness Years’ HQ in the 1930s, when Churchill was politically exiled and warned parliament about the rise of Nazi Germany. His study remains exactly as he left it. You stand just feet from his desk—complete with a cigar resting in his ashtray! Visit the Secretary’s Office which is restored to its exact 1950s layout where a hive of activity took place. See the Garden Studio which Churchill famously said was his “joy ride in a paint box.” Stroll through the rose garden, walled garden & kitchen gardens. You can also view the extensive brick walls that Churchill laid himself whilst looking out for Jock the ginger cat!

Traditional Kent Country Pub

We then drive locally for a traditional pint and food at a historic local Pub, before we meander back into London listening to music.

Where can I be picked up from?

We offer collection from any central London hotel, private accommodation, or location within a 3.5-mile radius of Trafalgar Square.

Pick-ups from Heathrow or Gatwick airports, as well as Southampton or Tilbury cruise terminals, can also be arranged, though additional charges may apply.

Where can I be dropped off after my tour?

Tours typically conclude at your original pick-up location; however, we are happy to drop you at another central London address if preferred.

Airport and cruise terminal drop-offs can also be arranged for an additional fee.
